This shop was apparently a publisher as well, because the ad says its reproductions of old original paintings were exported to the United States and Europe where they were enthusiastically received. The illustration features a sketch of a hawker of aka-e (mainly red-colored, gaudy nishiki-e) of beautiful women and Kabuki actors, giving a glimpse of popular Edo culture.
